APPLICATIONS:

The VPAR Nominating Committee is accepting applications from the Virginia Peninsula REALTORS® membership for the following 2025 Board of Director and Officer positions:

President-Elect – 3-years (2026-2028) (President Elect 2026/President 2027/Past President 2028)
Director – 2-years (2026-2027) (3 positions available)

Any eligible Virginia Peninsula REALTOR® member may apply. Please submit your application online. Before completing the application, be sure to have your resume or bio and a headshot photo available prior to completing the application so you may upload them with your application. A copy of your application will be emailed to you upon completion.

All applications must be received by the Association no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 28th, 2025.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates for Director must have been a REALTOR® in good standing for at least three (3) years, have been a member of VPAR in good standing for at least two (2) years and have acceptable VPAR committee involvement and leadership experience. Candidates for Officer positions, in addition to meeting the requirements for Director, must currently be serving on, or have previously served at least two (2) years on the Board of Directors.

POSITION DESCRIPTIONS:

All applicants must be prepared to serve the Association by attending monthly Board of Directors meetings, special work sessions, annual leadership training, general membership meetings and carry out all duties and responsibilities for the positions they serve.  Individuals serving as directors or officers owe fiduciary duties to the organization, which includes a duty of care, loyalty, confidentiality, obedience and accounting.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBER

Directors are responsible for governing of the Association, directing its work and the controlling its property and funds. Through the Association, directors adopt policies and procedures for conducting the organizations’s business.

PRESIDENT ELECT

The President-Elect shall perform the duties of the President in their absence and seek ways and means of relating the Strategic Plan to the needs of the membership. The President-Elect shall serve as a member of the Executive Committee. The President-Elect will assume the position of President the year following their term.

CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS:

The Nominating Committee will interview each candidate prior to its final selection. Interview questions will be provided in advance. The candidate interviews will be scheduled from Monday, August 11th from 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM and Tuesday, August 12th from 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM

VOTING:

VPAR Election Day is Monday, October 20th, 2025, at the Association Office and ONLINE from any location for all members from 8:30 a.m. until ballots close at 4:30 PM. (Absentee Voting will be available at the association office during regular business hours from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 pm starting October 13th, 2025, until Friday, October 17th, 2025, 4:30 pm)

ELECTION RESULTS:

The official election results will be immediately tabulated and verified by the Tally Committee and announced at the VPAR EXPO on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.
